One Hundred Years of Beekeeping
Hi, we're Chad & Jenn Knepper. We founded Chestnut Ridge Honey in Spring of 2018, but Chad has been a beekeeper for over 10 years. Drawing from the influence of his maternal grandfather's early work as a beekeeper, Chad refers to his meticulous notes and drawings about his experiences in caring for the bees nearly a century ago. We strive to care for our bees in the same manner, with attention to detail and a conscientiousness that has allowed our apiary to grow.
Our History
From Honey to Health
The apiary continues to grow and the bees emerge each spring to start the amazing process over and over of foraging, collecting pollen and creating that amazing wildflower honey which Lancaster County natives and beyond have come to love. Our honey is raw and carries light floral notes which make it a versatile condiment for tea, baking, or by the spoonful!
Jenn started dabbling with creating beeswax products one spring and because she loves cooking and creating new dishes, shifting gears to make various beeswax blends brought just as much enjoyment. As a nurse, Jenn wanted to create blends that would soothe, nourish and rejuvenate the skin as well as holistically address minor ailments such as eczema, dry skin, bug bite itches and much more.

In Jenn's beeswax blends, you can find raw ingredients sourced from companies who treat their employees with dignity and offer fair and safe working conditions such as Dr. Bronner’s Coconut Oil, Canaan Fair Trade Olive Oil and Kiros Naturals for our Shea & Almond oil. To finish off each of our blends, we add therapeutic grade essential oils to bring you a high quality, incredibly smooth and nourishing product that contains nothing artificial.
